The Da Vinci Initiative (sponsored by the ARC)

One student of the programme, 17-year-old Yeats Ihrig, has gotten media attention for his style, focus and precision gained from his time in the Vosler Young Artists' Studio. As one of the five winner in the Smithsonian's Teen Portrait Competition, Yeats is now taking his artistic skill to the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy.

Many of the student drawings are roughly based on the Bargue-Gérôme Drawing Course, a complete reprint of a famous last 19th century drawing course.  It contains 200 masterful lithographs of subjects for copying, The Da Vinci Initiative has prepared a Bargue Plate lesson plan for high school art students if you are interested in this teaching method for your classroom.
