Student Life: Long Pose Color

From the seventh term onwards, students begin long poses with the live model, painted in color. Each student paints a pose with Maestro Michael John Angel and Jered Woznicki as their individual instructors.

In the photo, William Yeats Irhig has begun to render his painting, putting final textures, values, colors, and details in place.

Student Life: Grisaille Figure Painting

In the fifth term at the Angel Academy, students study the Grisaille method in the figure room which allows students to become familiar with paint under the time constraints of working with the live model. This is their second of two five week paintings.

Here, the students have put the first impression of value and form in the light shapes, which the school coins: Big Form Modeling.
