Rishab Sud's Exhibition in New Delhi



Articles featuring AAA Alumnus, Rishab Sud's latest exhibition in New Delhi was in the National Newspapers: Millennium Post and The Asian Age. The show was at Gallery 1AQ, from the 21st to the 25th of November and featured 50 portraits in charcoal and oil paint.

Shane Wolf’s Miletus with Ribera’s Philosopher Thales



Wolf created Miletus as an homage to Ribera’s Philosopher Thales and the two paintings were displayed side by side at Sphinx Fine Art in the exhibition Young Masters: Dialogues, from 12th - 24th of October 2015. Alumni Updates: Shane Wolf and Rishabh Sud


Angel Academy alumnus Shane Wolf’s painting from his Songs of Sagesse triptych (100 x 195 cm.) will be part of the ARC Purchase Award travelling exhibition. This starts at the Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona (Nov. 17th to Dec. 28th) and finishes at the prestegious Salmagundi Club in New York City (Jan. 18th to Feb. 4th). For those who do not know it: the Museum of Modern Art is an international Modern Realist museum.

There is a new article in GoAir airline's magazine, Go Getter, on AAA alumnus Rishabh SudGo Getter is a national magazine, read throughout India.


Rishabh has been building a successful portrait business in India and has received a major commission from the Maharaja Hanuwant Singh of Nabha to create portraits of his great-great-grandfather, the Maharaja Hira Singh, in the traditional Indian manner. This and other such portraits are featured in the article.

Auction of Jean-Antoine Norbert's Drawing



This Thursday, Oct. 15th, Angel Academy alumnus Jean-Antoine Norbert’s portrait drawing is to be in an auction at Sotheby’s in New York. The auction is to benefit the New York Academy of Art, where Jean-Antoine is doing some post-graduate studies.

Alumna Update: Inga Loyeva

AAA alumna Inga Loyeva has just finished her Master of Fine Arts (with Merit) from Central St Martin's, in London. While there, she was also teaching anatomy at a private London art school.

Upon graduation, she was shortlisted for the prestigious NOVA award and was invited to participate in SOHO's Fluorescent Arts Festival. During the summer, she exhibited in a range of other exhibitions around London, including Capsule at the Embassy Tea Gallery (curated by Made in Arts, London), Century Private Club (curated by Leo Babsky), FLOCK at GX Gallery, etc.

Also earlier in the year, Inga exhibited at the Victoria&Albert Museum, which is her most prestigious venue so far.

Thomas Kitts Visits Maestro M. J. Angel



Last week, Maestro M. J. Angel had dinner with the American landscape painter and authority on John Singer Sargent, Thomas Kitts. Thomas Kitts is the creator of the Advice on Painting from John Singer Sargent pdf that is regularly sent by the academy to the students of the Angel Academy of Art, Florence.

Maestro Kitts is in Italy to give one of his regular landscape-painting workshops.

Alumna Update: Christina Mastrangelo




Angel Academy alumna Christina Mastrangelo won the Khole Award in the ARC's International Salon Competition for her triptych Know Not Thy Pending Fate, oil on canvas, 122 x 152.5 cm. (48 x 60 inches). In addition, the painting was given a merit award from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society in the Spring 2015 International Online Competition.

Shane Wolf



In the last week of July, Angel Academy of Art alumnus Shane Wolf won the $5000 top prize in the first ever figure-painting competition given at the Academy of Realist Art, Boston. As well as Shane, from Angel’s, the ten competitors included instructors and students from Juliette Aristides’s academy in Seattle, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and a San Francisco academy.


The painting is on show at the Egeli Gallery in Provincetown.

Vicki Sullivan





Angel Academy’s recent student Vicki Sullivan’s painting Coming up Roses, a portrait of Actor Kerry Armstrong, has been selected for the Australian Black Swan Portrait prize.




Earlier this summer, Vicki gave a 5-day workshop on the Meldrum [tonalist] Method in Tuscany, outside Montalcino. She hopes to give it again in 2016.

Julie Nord

Angel Academy student Julie Nord is in her first painting exhibition. This is taking place in Las Vegas, at The Arts Factory in Las Vegas's Arts District. Julie will be entering her third year at the Angel Academy in September.
